Welcome to the Rooster Roster! As always, we have lots of new birds for you this week. Wish we’d change something about this newsletter? Like this newsletter? Just want to email someone? Reply to this email. We love to hear from our fellow bird lovers.

Here’s what we have for you this week:

Since we ditched the table of contents to try to save space, just scroll to your state in their alphabetical order, because you’re an adult who knows your ABCs.

One tip: we highlight birds that are NEW to their shelters, so we recommend also browsing through your local shelter’s adoptable animals to see if you can spot any older hidden gems waiting for you, or even birds pending a stray hold that you could be first in line to see when they become available. Get to know your local shelter’s system and you will have a leg up on adopting the bird of your dreams!

• Kansas City/Independence - a loved Jersey Giant boy named Cece

New Hampshire

• Milford - Surprise Rooster

New York

• Huntington Station - 7 Free Laying Hens

• Rensselaer Falls - 40 “Meat chickens”

North Carolina

• Ashville/Old Fort - a bantam Rooster, and a New Hampshire Red Rooster, both of whom have lost their hens

• Raleigh/Wake County AS - Demi and Dezi the hens

Pennsylvania

• Scranton/Back Mountain - two free chickens

• Jerseytown - 3 year old Buff Orpingtons “for the stock pot”

Tennessee

• Hohenwald - Horse Plus Humane has lots of roosters on PetConnect, but they aren’t listed on their website. Call 888-474-7077 for information or to meet the birds.

Texas

• Austin/Kyle - young Bantam Roo

• Amarillo - hot tub Rooster

• Houston/Eldrige - “a few” roosters

Vermont

• Orwell - Free egger rooster

Virginia

• Winchester - 4 free Hens

• Palmyra - 400 (!!) laying hens

FIRST, Krishna and Ganesh, (formerly BB and Mystery) were adopted by Spotless Mind Sanctuary in Texas:

And, as if that wasn’t great enough, these bantam boys were rescued by Farm Angels Sanctuary in Surprise, Arizona:
