🥚🐣🐥🐓 birds in a shelter (or a farm!) near you

Did someone forward you this email? Then, 👇
Welcome to the Rooster Roster! California is still inundated with homeless animals, but the good news is, you can help! Reply to this email to let us know if you adopt a bird that you saw here. Also, do you wish we’d change something about this newsletter? Do you like this newsletter? Do you just want to email someone? Reply to this email and give us your feedback! We love to hear from our fellow bird lovers.
Here’s what we have for you this week:
🦆 two ducks with a permanent 😛
💁♀️ a single lady among love birds in San Fran
🙏 My personal plea to stop naming every shelter bird Cluck Norris or Hei Hei
🎷 A jazzy rooster for little kids, coming to PBS
📝 See our article published in Business Insider and AOL!
❤️ Our heartfelt thanks for being with us as we try to find homes for all our feathery friends.
Scroll to your state in their alphabetical order to find friends in need near you 💁♀️
One tip: we highlight birds that are NEW to their shelters, so we recommend also browsing through your local shelter’s adoptable animals to see if you can spot any older hidden gems waiting for you, or even birds pending a stray hold that you could be first in line to see when they become available. Get to know your local shelter’s system and you will have a leg up on adopting the bird of your dreams! 🔎

Migration season is happening now, which means the spread is happening fast. You’ve probably also heard ALL the tips and recommendations on prevention. But we want to know - which ones are you already doing, and what practices do you need help with?
If you need help implementing some safety procedures, we have a post up today at @adoptabirdnetwork on Instagram; drop us a comment and we’ll reply! 🌬️
